One of the greatest reasons to donate is to help the less fortunate. If you have been blessed, making a decision to donate to charity can help you give a little back. People donate to HAGAM for all kinds of reasons. Perhaps they have experience of addiction themselves, or perhaps a family member or friend found themselves going through hard times because of an addiction. Perhaps they wish to donate in the name of a loved one that has passed away, whom HAGAM’s cause was close to their heart so they can honour their memory. Here are some meaningful quotes from remarkable individuals; "We realise that what we are accomplishing is a drop in the ocean. But if this drop were not in the ocean, it would be missed." Mother Theresa "Random Acts of Kindness, 1994" “A person's true wealth is the good he or she does in the world." Mohammed "Random Acts of Kindness, 1994" "We must use time wisely and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right." Nelson Mandela Make an online donation now» |

Payroll giving Payroll giving is a simple and effective way to make a regular donation that offers all-round benefits. One third of companies who offer Payroll Giving to their employees have attributed improved staff retention to the scheme. It is simple, you decide how much you would like to donate each month, and it is deducted from your pay by your employer, then passed to HAGAM. Because the donation is made before any deductions of income tax, if you were to pledge £5 each month it would only cost you £3.90 – with the full £5 going to HAGAM. If you are a higher rate taxpayer, you’ll save even more. Apart from the knowledge that you have given most effectively to HAGAM, Payroll Giving is extremely simple to use. Once your donation is set up, you don't have to do any more. To find out more about payroll giving, contact us by telephone 01895 20 7788 01895 20 7788 or email Back to the top |

Share giving Giving shares to charity is not a new idea, but since April 2000, there is a new tax incentive to make Share Giving even more attractive. Individuals who give shares to charity are entitled to claim back full tax relief against the value of those shares. So, a gift of shares worth £1,000 will only cost a higher rate taxpayer £600, or £780 for lower rate taxpayers and furthermore, no capital gains tax will apply. There are many reasons why giving shares might appeal to you. You might hold windfall shares as a result of a privatisation or demutualisation that are effectively gathering dust. These may be making little difference to you, but they could make a huge difference to HAGAM. Or, you may own small parcels of shares, perhaps as a result of an inheritance, that you regard as a bit of a nuisance as they generate more paperwork than income. These could be turned into something of real value to HAGAM. To find out more about Share Giving, contact us on 01895 20 7788 01895 20 7788 or email Back to the top |
